MAV-MT
Advanced Military CUAS Training Solution Unleash Superior Counter-Drone Capabilities with Autonomous Flight Technologies
Micro Aerial Vehicle - MT
New for 2025!

Designed for military precision, the MAV-MT is the ultimate tool for Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS) training. Engineered by Autonomous Flight Technologies (AFT), this rugged, high-performance drone delivers unmatched versatility and realism for modern battlefield and civilian tactical simulations.

Built by Autonomous Flight Technologies in Salem, Va, the MAV-MT Target drone is low-cost, destroyable/repairable, easy to fly and customizable for use in developing TTP’s in multiple scenarios.

MAV-MT can not only be used in specific training scenarios (barricaded shooter, forced entry, call outs) but also to train your security personnel on how to shoot down a moving aerial drone that may have an explosive, camera, etc attached.
Shooting down a moving drone can be extremely difficult. And when seconds count, an Officer has got to be able to react without hesitation. This drone enables such training in a live fire setting.
This drone is also swarm capable, can be made in any color and can be upgraded with a camera.

AFT offers excellent customer care and technical support, training for the equipment and reliable equipment.

Overview
-
The MAV-MT was engineered to deliver an affordable, secure, and US-made solution for testing anti-UAS weapon systems designed to neutralize the next wave of battlefield drones. Most commercial sUAS platforms are manufactured overseas, and even those produced domestically often have foreign connections that restrict their suitability for this purpose.
-
Data Security: Features like cloud services and constant connectivity raise significant concerns for national security technology development and testing—issues that cannot be overlooked. The MAV-MT’s flight, telemetry, and payload data operate on a direct, point-to-point link between the aircraft and ground station, independent of internet or cloud reliance. This data stream is fully encrypted, ensuring maximum security.
-
Cost-Effective and Sustainable: Components are selected to minimize costs and incorporate recycled plastics. By keeping expenses low, budgets for expendable targets can support more extensive testing and training without exceeding financial constraints.

Power System
-
The MAV-MT employs widely available 18650 Lithium-Ion battery cells, eliminating the need for specialized battery packs or chargers. End users can source both batteries and chargers locally if necessary.
-
Unlike Lithium Polymer batteries, Lithium-Ion cells include built-in safety mechanisms that reduce the risk of thermal runaway and uncontrolled fires when overstressed.
-
Compared to LiPo batteries, Lithium-Ion cells offer extended flight times for their size and weight, albeit with reduced intensity. This trade-off prioritizes endurance over peak performance, enabling longer missions and sustained operational presence.

Airframe
-
The design features a minimal parts count, using exclusively carbon fiber-reinforced 3D-printed components.
-
These 3D-printed parts, crafted from recycled plastic, minimize environmental impact.
-
Flight Control System
-
The MAV-MT supports multiple control options: manual radio control, ground station with telemetry data link, or a combination of both.
-
Preprogrammed flight profiles can be uploaded to the Flight Control Unit (FCU) for consistent, repeatable missions.
-
-
When paired with the ground station’s telemetry link, mission logs can be replayed for detailed flight analysis.

Payload
-
The standard MAV-MT configuration is a flight-ready airframe equipped with localization and telemetry capabilities. The absence of a video system is a key advantage when live footage isn’t needed or when security is paramount.
-
Optional video payloads include:
-
Traditional RGB FPV with unencrypted 5.8GHz or 1.3GHz analog transmitters.
-
High-definition RGB encrypted digital transmitters.
-
-
Additional payload options are available upon request, subject to size and weight restrictions.
Elevate Your CUAS Training The MAV-MT empowers military units to counter evolving drone threats with confidence. From rapid deployment to swarm simulations, this platform delivers the tools needed to prepare for tomorrow’s challenges today.
